Nathan Hui-Yi (pronounced "Hway-Yee”) is a trailblazing Chinese-Australian rapper & producer from the Adelaide Hills, South Australia.

With an ethereal and eclectic style, Hui-Yi is illuminating the under-represented voice of Asian-Australian artists with his compelling lyricism and lush production.

Known for his fluid stream-of-consciousness flow and cinematic storytelling, Hui-Yi is carving out a niche in underground hip-hop that is both visceral and cerebral. Blending intricate lyricism with raw textures from jazz, lo-fi, and electronica, Hui-Yi draws listeners into a space that is uniquely his own.

Hui-Yi’s recording career began in 2023 with “DIE WITH A BUZZ”, a collaborative album with Detroit rapper Sam Be Yourself from Netflix's "Rhythm + Flow" rap show. With its grassroots DIY ethos, the album caught the attention of taste-makers and Spotify editors with its warm underground hits "DREAMS BECOME REALITY" & “DIE WITH A BUZZ ”

In September 2024, Hui-Yi dropped “FOR THE LAST TIME”, a deeply intimate self-produced solo record propelled by ultra-unique beats and emotionally-charged storytelling. Exploring themes of love, death and defiance in an increasingly artificial and AI-driven isolated world, Hui-Yi creates otherworldly hip-hop described by fans as “floating above the clouds”.
